Many Christians are filled with guilt over the fact that they can't stop thinking of sex. Everyday thoughts enter the mind with sexual overtones and everyday is another heavy handed feeling of guilt and shame for having allowed these thoughts to enter. The kind of Christian help for this that tends not to work is a cold turkey, complete suppression of these kind of feelings. There is a more realistic way to deal with the Christian can't stop thinking of sex syndrome.
1. Don't feel shame about sex. The first thing to do is begin to view sex as a beautiful thing, a form of celebration between two Christian couples. Once you place sex in this category, as a thing of beauty, then you'll appreciate it more and respect it more. It's a gift from above that deserves great appreciation and not easy and cheap over consumption. Respecting it more will cause you to rise above petty thoughts of sex.
2. Translate your feelings and constant thoughts about sex to thoughts about a relationship. Whether you are in an existing relationship, or you hope to be in a relationship, focus your feelings, and essentially your energy, in that direction. When you transfer your constant sex thoughts into the energy of building a strong Christian relationship then you're turning sex from cheap little everyday thoughts into a huge form of celebration that can only exist when you first build a strong relationship foundation. Work on thinking about foundation for a relationship, knowing that the celebration of sex will follow.
3. Take your constant lusting for sex and turn it into research! That is, instead of mindlessly thinking about sex, why not take some time, sit down and learn how to be a great Christian lover. This accomplishes two things: It takes your constant thoughts on sex and puts them in, for instance, a one hour window where you're both learning and your getting your sexual thoughts out of the way for the day in a more rational, reasonable manner. When you take the time to learn something, your mind automatically demands a break, hence it'll force you to stop having cheap constant sexual thoughts as you'll have already put your time into learning how to celebrate sex in intimate, spiritual, Christian way!
